Sourcing
The checklist that decides whether a trial order makes money
Buying in Yiwu is easy. Buying well is about four boring things: a comparable spec, a sample, a consolidated carton, and paperwork that clears customs.
| Ask | Good answer | Red flag |
|---|---|---|
| "What is the measured diameter?" | A number with a tolerance and a method | "Same as the label" |
| "What is the MOQ per colour?" | A number per SKU, not per order | "Any quantity" then a 500 pcs invoice |
| "Can you hold 3 batch samples?" | Yes, with batch codes | Refusal to keep samples |
| "What are your export documents?" | Invoice, packing list, HS code, origin | "The agent handles it" |
| "Who is the manufacturer?" | A named workshop, ideally the owner's name | "We are factory" with no address |
| "What is the lead time for a repeat?" | Days, in writing | "Soon" / "depends" |

Tell us the category, the booth if you have one, and the four numbers. We reply with the questions the stall will ask, and — where we can — the booths that publish a low MOQ.
